My Background and Experience
I received both Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. Over the years, I gained experience working with a diverse group of clienteles ranging in age, ethnicity and diagnoses.
I spent numerous years in residential settings, treating adults, children and adolescents suffering from severe emotional and behavioral disturbances. I also provided individual and group therapy for adults dually diagnosed with mood disorders and addiction. Additionally, I have experience in forensic work, evaluating and treating Unfit to Stand Trial (UST) and Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) populations. I had several opportunities to supervise and train clinical staff and graduate students in residential treatment settings.
In addition to private practice, I work as a consultant clinician at several Skilled Nursing Facilities and Rehabilitation Centers treating adults and elderly with chronic mental illness, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, and Dementia.
I provide therapy in English and Turkish languages. I value diversity and offer culturally responsive therapy for individuals embracing a variety of religious, ethnic and cultural heritage.
